The Undercover Superstars of the Veggie World! This unassuming root vegetable boasts a mild exterior that hides its bold and hearty flavours.
Growing over 2,000 acres across Scotland on an annual basis, this nutrient-packed root vegetable is at the heart of what we do. We consider ourselves to be the swede specialists and are dedicated to getting the many nutritious benefits of it into meals across the U.K. 365 days of the year. Swede is high in vitamin C, low in calories, a good source of Potassium, Calcium, Magnesium and antioxidants.
We firmly believe that swede must be grown in as sustainable a manner as possible and we actively implement practices that minimise environmental impact, conserve resources and promote the long-term health benefits of both the crop and the ecosystem. Some of our practices to achieve this include good crop rotations, soil testing and nutrient management, minimum tillage methods to preserve soil structure and minimise erosion, integrated pest management strategies, water conservation, biodiversity enhancement and composting.
